The brand name comes from the song “Guajira Guantanamera”, created in 1928 by the Cuban poet and songwriter Joseito Fernandez and became extremely popular in the 1940s. Later in the 1960s, the song became world famous thanks to a version that included verses from the emotional poems of José Martí.
The brand differs from traditional Habanos, both in the design of the product and in its production. These cigars are produced in a modern factory owned by the Cuban Tobacco Industry (ICT), using leaves from the Vuelta Arriba region, the second most important tobacco-producing region in Cuba. “Guantanamera” have a soft and pleasant aroma. They are presented in four formats in original, durable boxes of 5 and 10 cigars. The cigars are cellophane-wrapped, thus ensuring their better preservation. Their tips are cut off and the cigars are ready to smoke. All this makes “Guantanamera” a completely different cigar, whose goal is to attract new like-minded people. One of its biggest advantages is the extremely attractive price at which it is offered.
The name of this format comes from the ten-line format of the stanzas in the song of the same name – the source that inspired the creation of the brand.
